A smaller version of the Midway Gardens Sprite with Baton.

The Midway Garden Sprites were originally designed for the purpose of adorning and watching over Frank Lloyd Wright's Midway Gardens complex, which was built on Chicago's lakefront in 1914. It was the last of Wright's Prairie Style buildings and the beginning of his next phase of daring architectural experimentation and expressiveness through ornamentation.

The Sprite's design is based on different geometric shapes - triangle, sphere, cube and hexagon. Unfortunately most of the Sprites met a premature and unfortunate demise during Prohibition when historic site was demolished in 1929. Luckily a few were saved and eventually given to the Arizona Biltmore Resort. Now called the Biltmore Sprites, these were, in a sense, like the lost children of Wright.

These Sprite reproductions are cast in stone and finished in sandstone and authenticated by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.
