Millard House Lantern
In the early 1920's Frank Lloyd Wright lived for a short while in Southern California. During this time he created a system of home construction using what he called "Textile Blocks". These blocks were cast concrete construction blocks with a patterned exterior surface. Some had perforations to allow light to pass through. Its said the designs were inspired by Mayan temple architecture. The Millard house, aka "La Miniatura", was the first textile house built in 1923 and still stands in Pasadena, just east of Los Angeles. The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation authorized the reproduction of five patterns from these structures into tabletop, cast stone lanterns. They are shipped with a candle and can be placed indoors or outside. Height: 5 inches. Width: 5.75 X 5.75 inches. Buy 3 or more for $44.25 each.
